Hello dear horn colleagues and friends!

The time has come for the 2018 Horn Days “save the date”!

This year, we are pleased to announce that we will be joined by the great Sarah Willis, horn player of the Berlin Philharmonic. Her reputation precedes her and this weekend will undoubtedly be a great moment for all of us!

This year’s Horn Days will take place on February 3 and 4, 2018, at the Faculty of Music of the Université de Montréal (Claude-Champagne Hall).

As usual, we will present a horn ensemble concert at 3 p.m. on Sunday February 4. Another concert is scheduled for Saturday, sometime in the late afternoon. We are also working on a public event (flash mob or something else) which would take place in the late afternoon on Friday, somewhere downtown. Rehearsals will be held during the weekend – and on Friday, if necessary. More details as well as the full schedule for masterclasses, rehearsals and workshops will soon follow.

At this point, we would like to find out your interest and availabilities for the concert(s). You have until December 1st to let us know if and when you would like to play. After this date, we cannot guarantee a spot in the ensembles. Please reply to this email and indicate your availabilities on:

  • Friday
  • Saturday
  • Sunday

We will try to take into account your requests and your busy schedules when assigning ensembles.

Please note that such an event cannot exist without some financial participation. We are working very hard to get funding from different sources, but we must ask ALL participants to pay the registration fee even if it is only to play in the concert(s), to attend the masterclasses or to share with your horn player friends! Think of it as your way to promote the horn, encourage students to pursue the instrument and allow the Horn Days to continue to exist after 8 successful years!

We invite you to visit our website where you will be able to register and pay online:

Regular prices are $25/day or $40/weekend. There is a 10% discount if you register before November 1st, 2017 and an additional fee if you register after January 12, 2018. Early registration will ease the work of our team on the days of the event.

Thank you for your collaboration!

We hope to see many of you there!
